Dragon Blossom

Origin Planet: Lumoria

Dragon blossoms are almost acacia-looking trees. Their trunks are purplish-black in color and have bark that resembles snakeskin. They have stunning, flower-like blossoms that create a thick forest ceiling. Their robust pedals are thick and shaped like dragon scales. They’re a bright fuchsia color and have a similar rigidity to pine needles when healthy. Dragon blossoms are capable of growing in tundra like climates and forests of them occupy most of K’taixia, the northern region of Elodoria.

Great blossoms are an immensely large subspecies of dragon blossoms. They can grow up to 30 feet in diameter near the base of the trunk and up to 300 feet tall. While regular dragon blossoms are scattered across multiple regions of Elodoria, great blossoms are only found in the north and make up the majority of the forests in K’taixia. These are often chosen for their construction friendly qualities, while dragon blossoms are more often used for firewood or farming ember sap.

Ember sap is a slightly glowing, pink fluid and almost appears to have stars within it. It’s extracted from dragon blossoms to be made into a great number of things. It has a sweet berry-like flavor and a honey-like consistency. Also similar to honey, it has rapid healing abilities and when formulated properly, can be used to temporarily boost menyitic abilities, generally referred to amongst Elodorians as dragon magic or dragon’s fyre. Ember sap is often used as a dressing in foods. If used in earthly cuisine, one might use it for anything from pancakes to a sweet salad dressing, and even as far as a steak marinade.
